TimeTrek – Free Desktop Clock for Windows
Once you’re done downloading and installing the Frank Brower-developed application TimeTrek, you will notice a floating TimeTrek window on your desktop, window that you can drag and drop anywhere on your monitor. The TimeTrek window displays the time, the date, and a countdown timer.
I typed I my date of birth and the timer told me precisely how old I am – then seeing the seconds pass by got me thinking that I’m aging as I’m looking at the damn timer. So I typed in February 17, which is tomorrow. The timer started counting down to the date and time I set.
From the application’s settings you can choose to dock the window to a corner, like the upper left hand corner. From the settings you can also customize the way the window looks by choosing one of the multiple skins TimeTrek comes with. You can also disable the countdown/countup timer.
You can access TimeTrek’s settings by right clicking the TimeTrek icon in the System Tray or by right clicking TimeTrek window’s top right corner (click the bit that looks like a blue button – reminded me of a small image of Earth as seen from outer space).
From the settings you can set up alarms, multiple alarms.
Just like Random Tagline Manager, another Frank Brower-developed application we’ve reviewed, TimeTrek is offered by the developer free of charge. After you download and install the application, you will be able to use it free of charge for as long as you want. Speaking of downloading and installing TimeTrek, these two processes will complete in no time at all. The download weighs in at 2.1MB, so it can’t take long, not even if you are on a less than spectacular internet connection. Once the download completes, launch the ttsetup.exe file you downloaded, follow the instructions presented by the setup wizard, and you will be done before you know it.
